Have you ever dreamed of escaping to a Winter Wonderland? A place covered with crispy white snow, with picturesque sceneries, beautiful villages and phenomenal slopes?
Well, I think I found the place you are looking for and it is called Les Arcs. I have been lucky enough to discover this stunning part of the world thanks to FlexiSki, the ultimate tailor-made ski tour operator.
Possibly one of the most beautiful ski resorts I have ever been to, Les Arcs is the ideal destination for mountain lovers and heaven on earth for skiers. Situated in the French Alps and connected to La Plagne it offers access to a total of 425Km of pistes. Mental, I know!
By being this big it means there are plenty of different runs, with breathtaking variation in scenery and a great choice for all levels: one of the reasons why I loved this place so much! It doesn’t matter if you are an expert or beginner. Here you will be able to find the perfect trail for you and to have plenty of fun with your family and friends! If you are one of those fearless riders always ready to venture into some fresh powder, do not worry: there are lots of incredible off-piste areas waiting for you too!
During my stay I experienced outstanding snowfalls that made my time truly extra magical and made my skiing adventure an unforgettable one. The conditions were perfect for the whole weekend: yes, it was cold but the snow was excellent (haven’t skied on such an amazing snow since aaages!!) and the slopes not packed at all as the ski resort can handle huge crowds with ease. Exactly what you need for a perfect winter getaway!
If you are looking for an adventure focused more on relaxation and enjoying the beauty of the mountains, Les Arcs is still the right spot! It is actually made up of four different villages, each of them at four different altitudes where you will find lovely boutiques, cosy bars, pubs and restaurants where you can taste the region’s gastronomic delights. Each village offers exciting snow activities too: ice skating, winter walking trails and dog sledding are just some of those…how cool?!
Where to stay?
Where to stay is always one of those big dilemmas, especially if you are travelling to a place for the very first time and you are not an expert of the area. This is exactly where FlexiSki helps you out too. They organise literally everything for you, recommending and helping you discover not only the best ski resorts around the world but also the dreamiest accommodations ever. I am not exaggerating when I say we stayed in THE best place in Les Arcs: the Chalet des Cascades.
Located in Les Arcs 2000 (the highest-altitude one of the four villages) is a luxurious brand new ski in, ski out chalet situated right onto the slopes. It is the only one existing in the whole ski resort and definitely a prime spot for everyone, skiers and not.
It can accommodate up to 14 people and both, the exterior and interior are fantastic. It has all the comforts a five star hotel has, including a sauna and a pool: just what you need at the end of a long but definitely memorable day.
I particularly loved the high ceilings and big spaces this place offers. An elegant living room is what you find as soon as you enter the chalet: time to sink into the comfortable armchairs (the blue one is my fave!) or into the endless sofa while drinking a glass of wine and reading a book by a roaring fire. Canapés and dinner are gonna be served soon by an excellent chef, ready to surprise the guests with mouthwatering dishes.
Doesn’t it all sound like a dream? It truly is, believe me and FlexiSki do make your dreams come true!
